Temporary Exhibit Power Outages at Seaway Visitor Center—Facility Remains Open
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) today announced that beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the New York Power Authority (NYPA) will conduct essential electrical maintenance at the Seaway Visitor Center. This work is expected to last for four weeks.
The Visitor Center will remain open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Observation decks, facility amenities, and normal operations will continue without interruption. However, most computerized and interactive exhibits will be temporarily unavailable while electrical systems are serviced.
We appreciate the public’s patience as this necessary work is completed. These improvements will help ensure reliable operations and enhanced visitor experiences in the future. Guests are encouraged to visit during this period to enjoy the observation decks and experience ship lock-throughs on the St. Lawrence Seaway.
