Dwight D. Eisenhower Visitors' Center Hours Change This Week And Prepare to Close on Labor Day
The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation's public access to its Visitors'Center at the U.S. Eisenhower Lock for the 2016 navigation season ends at 6:00 pm on Labor Day,September 5. From Monday, August 29 through September 5, the Center will be open from 10:00 am to6:00 pm and is free to the public. Gift shop hours will be from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.Dwight D. Update on vessel "Saint Laurent" - 6/19/15 (10:23 a.m.)
The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation reports that as of 9:30 am this morning, the cruise ship “Saint Laurent” is in Eisenhower Lock and will remain there until salvage plans are defined. The ship is stable and passengers remained onboard overnight. Inspectors from the SLSDC and the U.S. Coast Guard continue to assess the situation. Seven commercial vessels are currently delayed. Navigation remains suspended until further notice. The cause of the incident is not yet determined....

At approximately 9:15 pm on Thursday, June 18, the cruise ship "Saint Laurent" struck an approach wall bumper as it was entering Eisenhower Lock. Injured passengers have been taken to receive medical attention. The ship is stable and no pollution is reported. The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, the U.S. Coast Guard, the New York State Police and other local emergency responders are working together to respond to the incident. Navigation is suspended until further notice.
